I have a Matrix that shows students that failed a class.
I shows their name and student number as well as the class and the score.
I have another Matrix that has all the same data except it shows all of the classes the students have taken.
What i want is to be able to click on the student number in the top Matrix and filter the bottom matrix so I can see all the classes that the student in question has taken.
But when I click on the number it filters the bottom Matrix to the same one line I click on.
Is there a way to do what I need?

Thank you both for replying. I think I have found the answer. I had to create 2 data sources out of the one to get it to pull correctly. One for the failed courses and one with everything.

Hi @badtuffstuff ,
Or replace the second matrix with a table visual like this?

@badtuffstuff , Not very clear.
below matrix, will filter for same student id. That is the behavior if you want to avoid you can using drill through or tooltip page, there you have the option to uncheck all the parameter and pass selected on
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/desktop-tooltips
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/create-reports/desktop-drillthrough
You can uncheck keep all filter and add what you want to pass in both cases
