Good morning.
We are trying to build out a filled map and we are running into a problem with the state of Virginia. This state has both counties and independant cities. Which data element is the best to map this data correctly? County name & State, County FIPS or Lat/Long ?
Any suggestions appreciated.

Hi @USAMeisie ,
If Filled Map Virginia couldn't map counties correctly based on country name or state name in Power BI, I think Lat/Long should be a good workaround to achieve your goal. Power BI will determind the position based on Lat/Long.
If you still want to show the location name, you can add the name in Location Filed, and then you need to set AVG function in Lat/Long field. Or your visual will return error.
