Filestream was asked to open a device that was not a file

I was trying to refresh a dashboard when I received an error saying that FileStream was asked to open a device that was not a file. However, the table where the error occurred is a CSV file living on a shared drive that to my knowledge has not been modified. I have never heard of FileStream so I am unsure of what happened. Does anyone have any experience with this error?Filestream error.PNG

@ChadBoersma,

What path do you use to connect to the CSV, UNC path? Filesteam is a feature of SQL Server which is used to store BLOBs in the NTFS File System. Have you configured the Filestream feature on your SQL Server, and use the drive to store SQL database files?

Hi @v-yuezhe-msft,

I am using the UNC path to connect to this CSV file that lives on a shared drive. We also actually don't use SQL server or the File Stream feature, but rather stored QVD files that are refreshed by SFDC every day

@ChadBoersma,

Could you please put CSV file in other drive and check if you get errors?

Regards,
Lydia
