I have a strange problem here. Columns that store numbers are being shown as text but only in the "Fields" panel.
I've checked data types in Power query and in Data view and both are showing the correct data type.
What's going on?
Below you can see a view from the Fields panel.
"MTD Actual" and "MTD Budget" should both be seen as "Decimal numbers".
Views from where data types were set:
1. Power Query:
2. Data view:
I even deleted all measures that could be converting data types to other. No change.
My Power BI version is 2.95.983.0 64-bit (July 2021) and I don't have any calculation group in Tabular Editor. I'm loosing my mind over this one 😄
I'm deleting tabular editor and Dax studio as those are the only things that I installed prior to having that strange situation.
Hi @Danielnir ,
The first thing what I see in your screenshot for column data-types -
What is the summarisation set on these fields? If it is set to Don't Summarise then it is showing right in the FIELDS pane.
When you set something on these columns as a summariation like SUM/AVERAGE/MIN/MAX, then under FIELDS pane you see a "summation icon" against the numeric columns.
