Hi,
I have just downloaded latest July 20 update of PowerBI and wanted to use External Tools tab fetaures. At the same time, I also downloaded DAX studio, Tabular editor and ALM tool kit (latest from web today).
Then I also enabled Enhanced metadata from preview feature.
Tabular editor seems to be opened up with no problem.
DAX studio can't open and throws error - "DAX studio executable not found. Contact the tool author for support.
ALM tool kit can't open and throws windows error - "ALM tool kit has stopped for working" Windows can check online solution for the porblem.
Please suggest what might be the reason. Lt me know if you need more details.

@mahenkj2 , I have nor enabled this option - enabled Enhanced metadata.
And Dax studio and Tabular editor latest version working without problem. Disable and check is that causing the issue.
Reinstall, both tools. If the issue persists log and issue - https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Issues/idb-p/Issues
Hi @mahenkj2 ,
From my experience with Power BI sometimes errors occur with certain setups or system setting and we not always realize what is wrong, I already add a previous version that would not run on one machine and on another with the exact same specs and instalations would run perfectly.
You should refer to:
https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Issues/idb-p/Issues
Again based on my experience I got feedback and problems were solved, sometimes just they just point out you are missing a DLL or they solve it in the next instalation.
Hope you can have quick feedback.
Regards

Check out my blog: Power BI em PortuguêsHi @amitchandak ,
I have the same settings has you and everything is opening correctly, no issue with the external tools.
I would suggest you put this on the issues part of the forum. Usually there is a good response from the support team, and on previous occassions there were some specific errors that were solve and updated on PBI when I report it on the issues.

Check out my blog: Power BI em PortuguêsHi @MFelix , @amitchandak
Thanks for your inputs.
In first place, all tools are grayed out if I do not select enahnced metadata option. I found this thing on another question on this forum. Though Just now I again checked but buttons are grayed out if this option not selected.
I uninstalled DAX studio and ALM tool kit. Now ALM tool kit show same problem and DAX studio just does not show up.
I tested to run PBI as administrator but even that does not help.
@MFelixCan you please indicate specifically where on this forum I should raise this query.
Thanks again.
