Export pivot table to excel

Hi,

i have a pivot table in power bi.

This is the table pivot.

capture.PNG

If I export the table to an excel file I see a flat table (not in pivot). Is it possible to export a pivot table in excel as I see it in power bi?

Thanks

Hi @henryco88 ,

When you use the export data function, you can only export raw data without retaining visual format. You can use Export to PDF or Export to PowerPoint function as a work around.

In addition, here is one similar idea shared on Power BI Ideas, you can vote it up and add your comments there to improve Power BI on this feature.

@henryco88

Unfortunately this feature is not supported.

You can also have a look at the following link:

https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Desktop/I-want-Export-data-of-matrix-visual-in-matrix-form-not-in/t...

This is a matrix, not a pivot table. You cannot export a matrix and have it behave like it does in Power BI. If you have a pro licence, you can use Analyze in Excel to create a pivot table that is connected to powerbi.com. Go to the dataset, click on the menu (3 dots) and select Analyze in Excel from there.

Hi @MattAllington ,

If I click on "Analyze in Excel" it downloads me an empty file with the pivoted data. I have to rebuild the table from the beginning.

So it is not possible to download the matrix table as I see it in power bi? Also in power point or pdf.
