Export Power BI data to to Excel file as xlsx not csv

 Dear Concern,

is there any way to export power bi table/matrix report to Excel xlsx table format with free of cost? (not csv)

I tried report builder but no luck.

I know it can be done via power bi service which is paid but other that paid is there a way to do that?

and one more question under which power bi paid service option I can get the option to export report to excel

(powerbi pro or power bi premium per user or pwer bi  premium or all of these )

thanks

In the service, you can export that data to Excel as an .xlsx or .csv file. The option to export the data requires a Pro or Premium license as well as edit permissions to the dataset and report.

I actually just tried the export function from the service from a free account and it's available:

Thanks @PaulDBrown for checking on that. I personally did not check as I did not have one. Can you check the link I posted and check if I understood it right please?

I confess that when I tried I was pleasantly surprised! (I too thought you needed at least a Pro account). I have a free account just for personal projects, including testing for PBI community questions.

The link is definitely the right reference for anything to do with exporting data from the service (and the conditions needed to ba able to do so).

This sentence may have lead to the confusion perhaps: "These limitations and considerations apply to Power BI Desktop and the Power BI service, including Power BI Pro and Premium."

No Pro Trial enabled. I tried "sharing" and it prompted the message about Pro needed and trial period etc..

@Fowmy

so there is no way to export data from power BI to Excel as xlsx format in withour lisence or free?

You can download from Power BI Desktop but the service needs at least a Pro license.

Hello a query, why is it possible that when exporting an array or table from the BI to csv then excel, the information varies to the one that is initially displayed?
