Hi
I need a small help in resolving a problem I am facing. I am creating a power BI dashboard where a column chart is being prepared based on "visits". By default the "visits" number has both internal and external traffic. So I would like to provide a slicer where when required on selection of "Excluding Internal", the total traffic deducts the internal traffic and the column chart is adjusted accordingly based on the selection.
Any idea how to do that?
Thanks
Roy

Hi @nirupamroy ,
Can you share some more information about your model and the data. Can you provide some sample data?

Answering to your reply. You can see from the table below that "Visits" column includes traffic from both internal and external. So when I plot a column chart for every month, by default the Visits is getting summed up. For example, for the month of April total visits becomes 48. Whereas it should be 40 since internal traffic already included within the number 40. So the column chart should display 40 for the month of April and at the same time, if I add a slicer, where users are given the option to filter "exclude internal traffic", which when selected, the column chart should display 32 for the month of April 2019.
Date | Visits | Traffic |
2019/04/01 | 40 | Including Internal |
2019/05/01 | 257 | Including Internal |
2019/06/01 | 0 | Including Internal |
2019/07/01 | 0 | Including Internal |
2019/08/01 | 0 | Including Internal |
2019/09/01 | 0 | Including Internal |
2019/10/01 | 0 | Including Internal |
2019/11/01 | 0 | Including Internal |
2019/12/01 | 0 | Including Internal |
2019/04/01 | 8 | Excluding Internal |
2019/05/01 | 58 | Excluding Internal |
2019/06/01 | 0 | Excluding Internal |
2019/07/01 | 0 | Excluding Internal |
2019/08/01 | 0 | Excluding Internal |
2019/09/01 | 0 | Excluding Internal |
2019/10/01 | 0 | Excluding Internal |
2019/11/01 | 0 | Excluding Internal |
2019/12/01 | 0 | Excluding Internal |
Create a new calculated value called External traffic and make sure it does 40-8.
Then use Including Internal and External for slicer options.
