Essbase connection via PowerBI desktop - Error

Hi Brain trust,

I have been trying to connect Essbase to PowerBI desktop for sometime now but have been encountering an error. I have configured Analytical Provider Services (APS) in Essbase and have been able to get the list of Essbase Apps and cubes listed.

However expanding each cube, I get the following error.

"An error occured while parsin EntityName. Line xxx, position xx"

The connection string is - http://<ServerURL>:19000/aps/XMLA

It's a similar error across all of our environments, be it Non Prod or Prod. I have been using an admin account to connect, so there can't be any permission issues.

Would anyone be able to assist.

Hi @airwolf ,

Please check if the metadata contains these characters,  like <,>,&,/,\ and etc.. and if so, replace them and try to connect again.
