Error while connecting with oracle database server in TNS name.

Hi All,

This is related to power BI issue. Initially the TNS name for my server connection name was “WORLD” in my local system and it is connecting  the same server name in power BI desktop. But when I am changing my TNS name in the TNS file from “WORLD” to “WORLDDEV” and trying to connect it through “WORLDDEV” as server name in power BI desktop, then the following  issue is coming.

TNS-12545: Connect failed because target host or object does not exist.

So can anyone suggest me what should be the solution.

hi, @Anonymous

Please configure your tnsnames.ora file with the proper information for your database. Power BI Desktop and the gateway go off of the net_service_name defined in the tnsnames.ora file. If the net_service_name isn't configured, you can't connect. The default path for tnsnames.ora is [Oracle Home Directory]\Network\Admin\tnsnames.ora. For more information about how to configure tnsnames.ora files, see Oracle: Local naming parameters (tnsnames.ora).

and also please refer to these blog:
