Error when trying to upload files in PowerBI Desktop

I am receiving the following error when trying to upload either an excel file or a CSV file to PowerBI Desktop.

Hi @Anonymous ,

 

You are using 2016 Power BI Desktop version. That's a very big surprise to me. I would say that is too-too old.

Try updating your Power BI Desktop to the latest version and then try uploading your files.

Hi @Anonymous ,

 

There might be an issue with the version of the excel file you are using. 
Could you please check with Excel 2013 version and let me know if you are facing the same issue.

Version: 2.37.4464.461 64-bit (July 2016).

Try to get the latest version of power bi, it will beyond your imagine.

I think you will need this URL.

Download Power BI tools and apps

When I select a file powerBI does not load it, the screen stays gray. This happened when updating with the January version, it also happens with the latest March version. can you support me?
