Error message when trying to connect to a Oracle Database

I'm trying to connect to an on-premise Oracle database.

Oracle Power BI.png

Sorry that the error message is in German, the English translation would be:

An error occurred while establishing a connection.

Details: "Error when reading data from the provider: "The object reference was not set to an object instance""

I followed all the steps from the offficial documentation (Connect to an Oracle database with Power BI Desktop - Power BI | Microsoft Docs) as well as the steps from this tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ClBQ3_p7T_A . Oracle Access Client is installed as well.

I entered the server adress accordingly (host:port/SID) and then got asked to put in the database login data.

After this step, the error occurs. I can't really identify the source of the problem. Are my credentials wrong? Or did I miss some steps inbetween? Not really sure what to do with this error message.

Any help would be appreciated!

https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Desktop/Getting-Power-BI-Desktop-to-work-with-Oracle-ODAC-AFTER-ver...

Few links below.

if needed add the oracle diver installation folder path into windows environment path

Hello @amitchandak , thanks for your answer.

I did all the steps listed in the provided link, unfortunately I still get the same error message.

What exactly do you mean with "if needed add the oracle diver installation folder path into windows environment path"?
