Hi,
I import data from a folder with many excel files in it. I just added a singular column to all of the excel sheets in the excel files and now it is giving me this error message. What did I do wrong?

@Anonymous ,
Probably that's why you got this error.
You can see the m code on:
Query Editor -> Home -> Advanced Editor
There is the generated code for all steps applied on your query.
Power Query starts handling excel file with generical names like "Column1...Column2.." and after that it types based on the preview values.
If you create a new column in the middle and the datatype is different from the previous expected, you get a error.
Check it changing this new column to the last column and see if you still get this error.
I put the column in the middle of the colums, but all in the same locations across all of the sheets. Where do I find the m code? @camargos88
Hi @Anonymous
In Power Query/ Query settings / Applied steps, there is a step that needs to be deleted of one of your tables.
Once deleted re do your steps.

I tried deleting all of my steps and the error went away but then when I tried to apply it, it would give me another error.

Thank you both very much. I ended up moving the column to the end, while also deleting all the steps in the query editor. Even though I had to re-do some calculations I had previosley made, it works now!
