Enable/disable load in Reference and Duplicate

Hello everyone,

I am a little confused with the difference between Reference and Duplicate.

Lets take an example here,

If I have a table say A which is connected to a datasource say SharePoint and a table B which is a reference of table A.

If I disable load of table A and refresh table B, it gets refreshed, so it means that table B can exist independently.

My concern here is, what is the point of having duplicate then?

Duplicate duplicates all of your M code, providing you a starting point to make changes whereas Reference creates a reference to the original query.
