Easy - Need to show sum YOY months side by side on bar graph

Hello, 

My current bar graph shows Jan  Feb  Mar of 2018....then after Dec 2018 shows  Jan  Feb  Mar...etc  for 2019.    That's nice, but what I really need is to show Jan 2018 next to Jan 2019,  Feb 2018  Feb 2019, etc...

Any help is appreciated!

Hi @Anonymous ,
You can sort the visual using Months field, so all "Jan" will com together.
If you click the ellipsis icon on your visual you can see the option to sort.

No, that is not what I am looking for and does not work.   What that does is aggregate the months together  -  meaning it just shows the combined total of Jan 18 and Jan 19 in one bar,  Feb 18 Feb 19 in the next bar etc.  

I need Jan 2018, let's say, in an orange color, then Jan 2019 right next to it, in a blue color (for example)

There are a few ways to do it.

1. You create a column month number in your time dimension table and make it as the sort column.

2. Create column month and year separately and use year a legend in the bar chart

month No = format(date,"MM")
Month Name = format(date,"MMM")
Year = format(date,"YYYY")

Thank you Amitchandak! It was so obvious it was staring right at me!   I did not even think about using the Legend.
