Easy Count Q: filtered count values not displaying properly in card visual

Hi All

I feel as though this should be very simple and I'm not sure why my usual approach isn't working here. I am trying to count the number of non blank values as shown in the table below. The total I'm looking for is 3577 shown in the table total below. I've taken the IDs out for a bit more anonymity.

When I show this in a card I get completely the wrong number. The DAX I'm using is:

calculate(count(Equipment'[Equipment ID]), filter(SVCCONTRACTLINE, SVCCONTRACTLINE[CONTRACTID])).

There is an inactive relationship between the two tables if that's relevant.

Tried that and get a result of 49K (it's counting all rows then). Convinced it is a relationship issue now,

Hi,

Drag this measure to a card visual

Measure = countrows('Equipment')
