ERROR [HY000] [Splunk][ODBC] (10001) General error: Failed to convert '00771c19-905e-00' to a number

Hi All,

I am loading data in power bi from Splunk using ODBC Connector.

I getting the below error while refreshing data. (Failed to convert '00771c19-905e-0000-9c0d-744b12b2ca47' to a number as required for column 'Account_ID). Whereas the Account_ID field data type is already text.

OLE DB or ODBC error: [DataSource.Error] ODBC: ERROR [HY000] [Splunk][ODBC] (10001) General error: Failed to convert '00771c19-905e-0000-9c0d-744b12b2ca47' to a number as required for column 'Account_ID'.

This issue is still not resolved, I would appreciate it if you could assist us.

Here is simple work around that worked fine for me in this case. 

I just added a single quote to the column in Splunk Report and able to extract properly in PowerBI. 

Either add quote or some charater 'ACC' to the column in Splunk, extract data in Power BI and then handle the extra char in Power BI.

@amitchandak Thanks, But this error is not covered in the tutorials you shared.

@Analystmate , Can you check and confirm that the data type of Account_id is number at source. seems like it is getting a UUID type of value. UUID will not be number here

@amitchandak You are right, in my data Account ID field has a value of type UUID. How to deal with UUID type value in Power Query?
