Dynamics 365 Business Central (on-premises) Authentication Error.

Dynamics 365 Business Central (on-premises) Authentication Error.

We have one environment with Dynamics 365 on-Premise version 8.2.2.112.

While connecting to this on-premise environment, we are getting an authentication error. Can anyone assist on what could be the reason?? Does this require IFD enabled?

Hi Mwegener,

You keep repeating the same thing all the time. We can already pull data and design reports via SQL. I don't want to open Instance with NavUserPassword.

Me and everyone else just want to use our data with ODataV4 in PowerBI. But I cannot access ODataV4 I access over the Internet via PowerBI. Because it gives the same error as above.

Please do not suggest solutions for the repetitions above because it does not work

Hi @ahmetmemisoglu ,

which connector do you use?

I have had the best experience with the "OData Feed" because it is not limited in the authentication methods.

Regards,

Marcus

Hi,

I have the same problem as nicksoft.

The Service Tier runs with "windows" authentication

Currently I would recommend the SQL Connector for On Premise. He is faster and more flexible.
Otherwise, you must first create queries in the developer client of Buisness Central and publish them as a web service.

I have the same issue as the original questioner. How can the SQL Connector be used to achieve the same?

Hi @bellobinibrahim,

does the answer work for you?

Hi @bellobinibrahim,

if you use Business Central (on-premises), you have a local SQL Server.

You have to request the connection information (SQL Server, Database) and read permission by your IT.

If you have the permission, you can request the data tables. (syntax: <company>$<table name>)

Hi,
i think the Connector runs only with "Basic" Authentication (NavUserPassword). You could setup a second Service Tier for the OData-Service and run this with "NavUserPassword" Authentication.
