Dynamic financial year in one report.

Hi there,

I need to build a report which will filter the data as per a financial year for different companies for  organization in one report.

e.g. company ABC has financial year starting jan-dec.

company XYZ has financial year starting july-june

I want the user to provide the capability if they select the company in drop-down, the data will be filtered as per the comapny financial year with the correct titles & lables for the month year.

Thanks in advance.

Cheers,

Hi @chavanr ,

Maybe you can try bookmarks. Please create a calendar table, like this.

vkkfmsft_3-1656487256539.png

Then create different bookmarks for different companies (select different date column in the bookmark to add to the visual).

If the problem is still not resolved, please provide detailed error information or the expected result you expect. Let me know immediately, looking forward to your reply.

Hi @chavanr

I would say you should try to create the report yourself so that you can research and learn more about PowerBI. However, I'm happy to help you out.

Would you be able to provide a PBIX file containing the data tables?

Please make sure that there is no sensitive or irrelevant data.

Thanks !

probably i didnt put my question correctly.

I was wondering to get some recommendations on the approach to build the same.
would a common date table be useful since i need to sync the report level filters.

Hi @chavanr

Yeah you can create a dates table using the Calendar function and create a relationship linking it to your financial year column in your table. You can then use this date table as your X-Axis.

yep, how about for the company which has a different financial year?
