I have tried transposing my data and making the legend dynamic based on the unpivotted attributes and values but because the dataset is very large there are performance issues. I would like to be able to select a value in a lookup table and then that will be used as the Legend on a graph. Is there away to do this without transposing the data?
Hi @rbruce545
Can you share more details ? If possible share your pbix file and the solution you expect on OneDrive or Google Drive and share the link here.

Date | Car | Van | Number |
01/05/2019 | White | Black | 6 |
02/05/2019 | Black | Red | 5 |
03/05/2019 | Black | Green | 1 |
04/05/2019 | Blue | White | 3 |
05/05/2019 | Green | Black | 8 |
06/05/2019 | Green | Black | 4 |
07/05/2019 | White | Blue | 2 |
08/05/2019 | Black | Green | 5 |
09/05/2019 | Blue | Red | 8 |
10/05/2019 | Red | White | 5 |
As a very simple example, I have the above. I want to plot the number on the y-axis, date on the x-axis and then in slicer select car or van (from a lookup table) as the legend so there will be lines for the different colours.
Hi @rbruce545 ,
Curious to know why the value for Number is same irrespective of whether Car or Van.

Hi @CheenuSing,
Purely for simplicity - my data is summarised in a similar way before I load it into Power BI,
Hope that helps
