Hi,

I am working on Dynamic row level security in Power BI.

I have created roles based on 'Market' based (coming from T3 table). which is working fine. (Please refer 'Market_Model image)

Now, I have some fileds, which are coming from T3 table. I am trying to create new role 'PU' based (coming from T3 table).

I am getting an error while creating relationship between 'PU' table and 'User Access' table. (Please refer 'PU_Model image)

I am refering below link to create Dynamic row level security.

Table info:

User_Access : This table I created in database to define roles.

PU/ Market table: These tables I created in Power BI.

Can anyone please help me on this?

Hi @Anonymous,

It seems that you have problems when you create the relationships in Power BI.

For your error, please change the Cross filter direction to be single and try again.

In addition, you could have a reference of this similar thread which has been solved.

Thank you so much for your reply.

I tried removing bidirectional relationship. But in that case Dynamic row level security for that particular field is not working.

Below is the data model after removing bidirectional relationship for 'Market'.

After applying above settings, I can see only related 'PU' but I cannot see related Market which I have defined in 'User Access' table. I am seeing all Markets now 😞

Can you please help me on that?

I have created one sample pbix file with the same scenario.

Can you please take a look at it?

'User_Access' table which I have created in database to define roles.

I want to create roles based on below 3 fields:

1) 'Market--> From 'T2' table.

2) Portfolio --> From T3 table.

3) PU --> From T3 table.

I am referring below link to create Dynaic RLS. To get it work I have to create Bidirectional relationship between 'Market/PU/Portfolio' and 'User_Access' table but at a time I can make bidirectinal relationship between either Market-User_Access(Market) or PU-User_Access(PU) or Portfolio-User_Access(Portfolio).
