Dynamic Month Axis for columnar months data

Hi,

I am working on a data set with financial figures(Sale, Cost etc.) for each month in separate month columns. E.g. Jan-19, Feb-19.. are different columns in my data set. Is there a way around to create a single clustered column chart(sales & cost) with different months in the X-axis ? I can't change the dataset structure at this point.

Thanks in advance.

Hi @Anonymous ,

It is unavailable to achieve your requirement about the dynamic columns in Power BI currently . For your further analysis, recommend you use unpivot to combine all month columns into one column.

Enter into Query Editor, click on all month columns column at the same time, then choose "Unpivot Columns" option, you can rename this result column "Attribute" with "Month" . Don't forget to click the "Close & Apply" button. Then you can put the new created Month column onto Axis box of your visual.
