With the new February 2022 Update, adding more SQL flavors available to call back to for directquery, does anyone know if its possible to directquery to Redshift as your SQL database and pass the parameters back successfully in this context?
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/connect-data/desktop-dynamic-m-query-parameters
The limitations do not explicitly say no, and I am about a week out from getting access to Redshift in order to test. Just wondering if anyone has walked through this door yet.
Hi @Anonymous ,
As per the document, this supported on following:https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/connect-data/desktop-dynamic-m-query-parameters
The feature is only supported for M based data sources. The following DirectQuery sources are not supported:
And I I found another article (not from Microsoft) that indicated that Redshift is an M based connector and should thus be compatible with this functionality.
You also could refer the following article:
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/connect-data/desktop-connect-redshift
Did I answer your question? Mark my post as a solution!
Best Regards
Lucien
