Drill down feature on matrix, table visualization in Power BI Desktop

Can we do the drill down feature on matrix ,table visualization in power bi desktop instead of Charts.

@JPotwade, not yet!  As of 30-Dec-2016 there have been four updates to the Power BI iOS app vs. the one November desktop update that introduced the feature.  Now of the iOS updates mention the issue as a fix and the feature still does not work in the app.  I was hoping a December desktop update (along with an iOS update) would bring a fix but with today as the last business day of 2016 it seems unlikely.  

You can still use your filters on the iOS version but it takes a little bit of effort in that you need to use the search function vs. the drop down.  The problem for me is that by taking advantage of the drop down I made my slicers smaller to emphasize other more important visuals so to find the spyglass for search can be tough.  Good luck!  Hopefully a fix is forthcoming in the next couple weeks.

Guys is this issue fixed? Even i am looking out for option to drill down or drill thru functionality from one table to other tables.

Please update me the solution as I have to migrate from other Third Party tool to PowerBI.

this is a much needed feature at the matrix visual level and I hope that Microsoft is looking into providing the drill down capability in its next release.  Typically, we would like to show totals at its highest level of granularity and based on what is seen be able to drill down to the next level based on clicking one of the results.  This is available in power view but is needed within Power BI as well.  Thanks!

No. We are not able to perform drill down action in a table or matrix visual.

The drill down feature needs hierarchies between fields. Because of the rendering mechanism of a table or matrix visual, those hierarchies can display completely when we drag those fields to a table or matrix. So we needn't to perform drill down action to see detail data.

Is it still current that we can't perform a drill down action in a table or matrix visual.

For example I have a list of data displayed in a table. Then I want to click one of the items in the table and it takes me to a detailed report for that item. Is this possible? As this is a application I will be using PowerBI embeded.

Totally agree on this!  We have a four level account structure that I'd really like to be able to drill on in a matrix visual.  Most users really only need the highest level of reporting but some do like to drill down for details.  The only way for me to accomplish this now with a matrix is to create separate pages.  However as I get down to account level three and four most of my screen real estate is taken up layering of account descriptions vs. actual data.

i think that the person that posted the original question is referring to the "show levels" options in power view, which allow you to drill down on row and column matrix tables.

i looked for this functionality in power bi desktop, but could not find it either.

hopefully, this is being worked on, as an update in the near future, as matrix tables are popular.

Since you can't select anything in either of those visualizations, it makes sense as to why drill down isn't available there. How would you use drill down if it was available for those visuals?

I'm confused as to what the use case would be...
