What is the advantage of using a Gateway?  Could you go directly to Dremio?

If your data source is on premises and you want your  report  in service to automatically refresh, gateway is essential.

Gateway  acts as a bridge to provide quick and secure data transfer between on-premises data (data that isn't in the cloud ) and several Microsoft cloud services.

Currently we use Azure, Power BI ( and Gateway), I am exploring options to utilize Dremio to manage self serve options for Power BI users.  I want to curate data sets, etc, make virtual datasets that the users can access while maintaing data governance, etc on the back end side.
