Don't show (Blank) in Standard Slicer With Hierarchy

For example, if this is my dataset:

When I filter on Name=C, how do I remove the "(Blanks)" from the slicer?

I only want to view the next level of hierarchy if it actually has values. In other words, I don't want the empty leaves to be shown.

I tried applying the 'is not (blank)' filter but the slicer just returns no value when I do that:

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you!

@Anonymous unfortunately I don't think there is a workaround for this. As far as I remember there is an idea for this on the ideas forum, you should vote for it.

Hi @Anonymous ,

You could import Hierarchical Filter-xViz visual and then set Hide Blanks(PRO) options as Catrgory as shown below:
1.18.1.1.gif

Here is the pbix file.

You could refer to  this blog for further help.

Hi, I really appreciate your demo. Unfortunately Hierarchical Filter-xViz and the 3rd party hierarchy slicer don't perform well when the slicer contains thousands of values for a really large dataset. We also have some specific UX requirements, so we'd prefer implementing the same thing in the native slicer.
