I have several filters in my report. When filtering through each, it can be easy to forget exactly which filters have been selected. To resolve this issue, I have used text boxes with conditional formatting to display which filters have been selected. I have two different measures that I have been toying with to find a solution, both of which are partially incomplete.
In this example, I have a hierachy of Sport and Team Name. The default view looks like:
With the default view, without any filters selected, both options work as intended. However, depending on how you select the filters, the conditional formatting does not quite work how I would like.
In the below scenario, only one team name is selected and everything works as intended for Test 1, but not for Test 2. Selecting by Team Name should inherently select the remaining options left in in Sport.
However, if I want to select by more than one Team name, Test 1 no longer works. Test 2 is able to return each selection of Team Name, but it doesn't affect the Sport visual.
Additionally this leads to a similar issue if I only filter by Giants. Since this is a Team Name of both a baseball and football team, this once again does not work as intended.
I've been unsuccessully attempting to find a way to combine these two solutions into one. Is there a way to do so?
Solved! Go to Solution.
Finally figured it out on my own with these two measures!
