Display number of records in table visual vs number of records in dataset?

Hi,

Sorry if this is something really simple, but I am having a lot of trouble getting this to work.

I have a pbix file that is using Import mode and in it I have a table visual that is using columns from a couple of different datasets.

I also have slicers that are used to reduce the displayed records in the table visual, what I would like eiter in the table visual totals or a card visual is a count of the records displayed in the table visual vs a count of all the records?

In the attached screen shot you can see the table only has 7 records displayed, and I've created a custom column with a integer value of 1 in it so I would expect the total to show 7 rather than the 1847 value it is displaying in the total.

Thanks,

Brendan

Hi @BrendanYano,

I agree with parry2k's suggestion. Please refer to my sample test.

If only use one dataset in table visual. Everything works fine:

1.PNG2.PNG

However, when put related datasets which relationship is one to many into one table visual. The Grand total returns wrong values which is the original dataset value.

3.PNG

Thereby, to troubleshoot your issue, please verify the relationships in your multiple datasets.

Thanks,
Xi Jin.

@BrendanYano You mentioned there are vavious tables in your report, the table you shown in example, is it from one table or multiple table?

Can you just go for a basic table and see if total is showing correctly. I have a suspicious that it is something to do with relationships between tables.
