Hi folks, I am troubled...
I have a report using a:
1- a DirectQuery connection to an Azure SQL database table,
2- an excel file on One Drive (connection using web connector),
it works well on the desktop, but when I publish the report, PBI Service is telling me it can't connect to the SQL table as I don't have any installed data gateway... And the the strange thing is that if I test the report with only the DirectQuery (or only with the Excel One Drive file), then it works without any data gateway...
Am I missing a point here? Any clue?
Thx in advance!
Ben

Hi @amitchandak & @vanessafvg and thx for your feedback. I thought I had replied but it seems I forgot to push the last button... Anyway, problem solved, and shame on me: after several hours skratching my head with this, I finally noticed that a tiny little query was still aiming at a local file (I had simply forgotten to change it to a 'web' connector. Once I truly only remained with web and azure sql connections, then I was no longer asked to use the datagateway...
Thx again to you, and have a great day!

@BenCardineau , data gateway id for power bi service to connect with the database , for which direct connection setup is not available.
I think for Azure SQL, you check the details again for gateway.
Also for one drive schedule refresh it should ask credential there on service
