Direct Query to Azure SQL DB, visuals throw Error code 8632.

Hi

Have a Direct query dataset connected to a Azure SQL DB. Have created some measures that  I want to display in the report.
Standard DAX functions work, but when I add iterrators like SUMX to a visual it throws an "Couldn't load the data for this visual'.

Details says: "The service has encountered an error processing your request. Please try again. Error code 8632."

anyone?

Thx

Hi @TheKnall ,

DirectQuery knows quite a few limitations and unfortunately,  You can read more about limitations of DirectQuery here:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/desktop-use-directquery#limitations-of-directquery

Is your measure returning more than a million rows somewhere in the process?

Kind regards

Azure SQL db running in S2 so it got Power.

ETL process is clean in PQ No extra steps.

The table has 3 rows and about 30 columns. So its a small table.

All agregations that does not iterrative like sum, count etc.. Works fast. Problems comes when adding aggs like sumx, then it throws the error.

Been Reading on the Subject and could be its running out of resources or the Query back to the db becomes to Long.

Anyone have had same issues?

We are using tabular model and we had this issue many times.

In our case when we add measure in table it throws same error...could not load visual...this one is because when there are other numerical columns which are summerized..so resolution is change numerical column to "don't summerize".

Still issue persist then you need to cross check on your measure dax .

Thanks
