Direct Query Report - needs to be filtered by local Excel file Values

I've a report which connects to a snowflake database and shows needed visualizations for a big list (250000 candidates) and I've a request from the user community to be able to filter the visualizations based on their list of candidates (10 to 15k) at a time which they have in local Excel files.

I've seen vidoes where excel and parameters are being used to filter reports, but when using Direct Query I am unable to do so.

Any information or insight is highly appreciated!

Fyi- I am a beginner/amatuer with PowerBi !

Thanks for your help!

HI @ssoman,

It is impossible to add local file to power bi when you used directquery mode.

Use DirectQuery in Power BI Desktop

Please switch to import mode to get data from two datasources to achieve your requirement.
