Dim Table contains hidden blank value?

Hi there

Could anyone please help me understand why I am seeing this completely blank row when I choose to 'show items with no data' using a column from my dim table

There are no blank rows in this table

I have noticed when I remove the link between this table and the fact table, this (blank) value disappears. Even though I have checked the Priority_Code field in the fact table and there are no blank or empty values.

Hi, @Anonymous

This screenshot alone can't tell that there is a problem with your real data. You need to check your fact table column.

Are they a one-to-many relationship? Is there other relationships between these two tables besides this column?

Hi, @Anonymous

Check to see if there are values in the fact table that are not in the Dim Table, If the value can't be matched after the relationship is established, blank value will be generated.

Hi @v-janeyg-msft there looks to be no outliers in the dim or fact table.. The columns are both formatted as text.

Hi @v-janeyg-msft I did notice all of my dimenstion tables had a 1-to-many relationship with the fact table, except for one. This odd one out hada relationship going in the opposite direction, many in the dimenstion table and 1 in the fact table. Deleting this relationship removed the (blank)'s.

Thank you 🙂

Hi,

In the Priority code column of your Fact Table, there is atleast one blank or there is an entry there which is not in the Priority code column of the Dimenstion table.

Hi @Ashish_Mathur

This was the first thing I checked and there are no discrepancies there. Therefore am trying to figure out what has caused this as that is not the reason

Here is the fact table data extracted into Excel. All the values in the Priority Code column match the values in the Dimension table.

Hi,

I am not sure then.  I will need to see the PBI file.
