Different way of sharing dataset

Hi,

I was wondering about the different ways to share a set of data.

According to one of my BI professors, it would be possible to share via Power BI Desktop to Power BI online, a dataset (or a data model) with no report just data . And that this way I would no longer be constrained by the size of 1Gb per dataset, because i'm running on a pro license.
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/service-admin-manage-your-data-storage-in-power-bi

I'm not sure about the feasibility of that sharing.
Is it possible to share in this way?
Is there any other way to import a dataset (without using Power BI online)?

HI BCalloud

You should have a look at share datasets, which require the latest workspace experience

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-bi/service-datasets-across-workspaces

This way you can construct a single dataset, and share this, so folks who construct reports only need a direct link to the existing dataset

But if you are having issues with data sizes when constructing the dataset, you may also need to create parameters which restrict the data, for example I use filters when reading large number of XML files to both reduce the size and load time, and then alter the parameter once the dataset is loaded in PowerBi.com

Hope this helps
