Different behavior on using DAX formulas on a single (live Conn.) dataset bound to another report

Hi

I found some strange behavior in using a seperated Dataset (as PBIX) with reports in another PBIX as a solution(1)  versus a solution(2) in which the dataset and reports are combined in one PBIX.

In the first solution(1), using the Quick measure Month over Month, PowerBI creates a measure with the formula

DATEADD('TenantProductActivity'[ContentDate].[Date], -1, MONTH) somewhere in it.
Opening the measure and PowerBI complains that the part 'ContentDate].[Date]' is incorrect and returns an error 'Parameter is not of the correct type' . Strangly the Measure (as long you don't try to change it) will give the correct values...

Using the same construct in the second solution(2) PowerBi does not complain and the measure kan be edit and reloaded correctly.

Anyone with the same experience and found a solution ?

@bert_Natenstedt , avoid using .[Date], and try

DATEADD('TenantProductActivity'[ContentDate] -1, MONTH)
