Can you a new measure be created on a Tabular Cube Source in Power BI Desktop?

Thanks,

Rekha

Just a small correction to the answer of @ankitpatira - you cannot add measures when having live connection to your tabular datasource. When importing data from a tabular, one can define new measures inside the Desktop.

All of the query and modeling features in Power BI Desktop are disabled when exploring by using a live connection to your Tabular model. An related idea is already in “Under Review” state, so it may be possible in the future.

Now, you can use Import mode as Tsanka said.

Best Regards,

Herbert

@RekhaG If your question is can you create a measure in power bi desktop data model if having tabular cube as data source then No. In that case you have to create measures and calculated column in tabular cube itself.
