Hi I am trying to slice my report using created on date as drop down. For successfully filtering other parts of the report based on particular date selected from the dropdown, do I need to have a physical relationship between the slicer date and some other date in the other tables? Or does the slicer filter automatically as long as there is any relationship between associated tables?

Best practice is to always create a calender table with a list of unique dates and relate all tables to that calendar table using the date field within each table. Then, use the date from your calendar table in the slicer.

That exactly answers what I was looking to confirm.
Thank you. Resolved..
