Date relationships between four separate tables

I have five separate tables each with a column 'Created'

This column tells us when each row was created in <dd/mm/yy> format.

I want to create a bar graph that tells us how many rows were created and on which days whilst still categorising by table. I have attached a screenshot below to better illustrate what I'm looking for:

45.pngI'm using the date created as the axis and using the same value to provide the count (values).

The date axis in the photo is currently running from one column on one table. I'm unsure how to create a relationship where by the axis will take into account all of the dates across all 5 tables.

Help would be much appreciated

Indeed,

This is the strenght of PowerBI.
You'll have to bring everything to a Date Dimension.

Please see one of many ways on how to create a "DimDate"

Hi,

Create a Date table with date key and

You can create a new column for date key in all five tables and link that to Date table.

Hi @sathiyen  I'm unfamiliar with date keys & how to produce them. Could you provide an example if possible?

Cheers

Could you provide a sample of your dataset?
I will see if I can create a DateDimension for you with the correct structure.

Your DateKey is depending on how your data is structured and formatted.
If you share a few rows of your data, I'll prepare a Pbix samle for you.

By all means that would be excellent.

How do I attach a sample?

I've attached a photo below how far I've gotten.

I see you're working in PowerQuery.
relationships are defined in the power BI modelling window.

To Attatch a file, you'll have to upload it somewhere (google drive, onedrive,...) and share a link.

Hi Cameron,

Date key for today 14th August 2019 is 20190814  this will be available in all the Date dimension table that you download from internet.

So you can create a column in all your tables for date key and map it with the date table
