Date format - power bi latest version -

Hi all,

In the date format in the:

data section

under modeling ribon

in the formatting category

I can't choose DD/MM/YYYY

as I used to choose.

my locale for import setting is Hebrew (Israel) and it should show DD/MM/YYYY and not MM/DD/YYY

Thanks in advanced,

Nir

Hi @nirrobi

By my test with the latest version of Power BI Desktop(2.55.5010.641) and the locale for import setting is Hebrew (Israel) , everything works as expected.

The test result as below:

Additionally, you could note that set the Format to dd/mm/yyyy under the modelling section on your client PC, you will need to change the Local System Date Format under Control Panel > Region > Change date, time, or number formats on that PC first. Then you will see the dd/mm/yyyy option under the modelling section after reopen the pbix file.

If it still does not work, I suggest you could try the follow way in Query Editor.

  1. Split the column with '/' custom delimiter
  2. Re-arrange the columns to see the day column in first and month column to next and year to the last.
  3. Select all the three columns.
  4. Right click-> Merge columns with a custom delimiter '/'.
  5. Transform the column to change the data type to 'Date'.

Hope it can help you!

Best Regards,

Cherry
