Date field converting to text automatically on refreshing the data model

Hi All,

I have a data model in which day wise sales is given. The source file is an excel file. Now whenever there is a change in source file, the change in the data model is happening after refreshing the model. Now the moment the data model is refreshed, the date column in the table is getting converted into Text from Date. So every time whenever I am refreshing the data model, I need to change the date column in the data model from Text to Date. In case this step is missed, all reports are messed up. The column of Sales date is in Date format in the source excel file.

Please let me know how to rectify this issue.

HI @rohanjha1988 ,

You can try this.

Go to power Query

Click on the Data Type (Marked in Blue) and then choose using Locale.

Change the Date based on the Locale.
