I'm importing data set from PowerBI to Excel and creating a pivot table. I realize two things:
Date Field:
Issue
They aren't reconize as date field in Excel.
Impact
This prevents me from grouping the date and view data with date hierarchy.
Things I tried
I tried to change the dataset property on Date Column using Transform in Query Editor. I tried to set them to Date/Time or Date, but none of them works.
Value Field:
Issue
They aren't reconize them as a value field in Excel.
Impact
I cannot drag the value field to Values quadrant in the pivot table.
Things I tried
My workaround to this is to create a measured field in the dataset in PBI.
Hi @gsu421,
Based on test, when you "connect to data' function to import data from power bi, these data will analysed to 'general' excel type.
I think current it not support to keep original data type when you use this plugin to conect data from power bi. Perhaps you can share your requirement to ideas forum.
