What are the benefits/drawbacks of using "Mark as Date Table" as opposed to creating my own date table using Calendarauto and then adding columns for day, month, quarter and year?
Hi @CraigSchulz,
Manually specifying a table as a Date Table removes Power BI's hidden "auto" date tables, giving you better control over time intelligence, etc.
You can still mark your own CalendarAuto table as a date table. Regardless of how it's created, it's just a good idea to have a formally labelled one. Here's a good video by @MattAllington describing some of the benefits.
