Setting dates to display as a hierarchy is a feature I do not appreciate. What is the reason for this default behavior.
Can it be undone?
Normally, I just want to see a date in DD/MM/YYYY format in a single column. I don't want it to display on separate columns as it does with hierarchy. So, I am constantly having to undo the default.

Yes, you can inactivate this under Options. See picture attached.
