Right now I have some data that involves date/time and city/state/country. All times are recorded in Eastern Standard time, but some entries are in different time zones. I would like to visualize this data by hour of day. I want to download a dataset that includes time zone by county or city so I can link it to my dataset to compare time of sales across geography.
Any suggestions?
City | State | County | Country | Sales | Date | Time |
Dallas | TX | Dallas | US | $42.00 | 8/23/20 | 9:14:09 PM |
Fiskdale | MA | Worcester | US | $12.00 | 8/15/20 | 12:39:16 PM |
Centerville | CA | Fresno | US | $30.00 | 8/7/20 | 1:38:46 PM |
@ratgdillon I used a TimeZones.csv file in my book DAX Cookbook, you can download it from here:

Chapter 3. Let me know if it helps or not, @ me in replies.
@Greg_Decklerthe dataset needs to link county or city to time zone. Listing the time zone and its time offset is helpful, but it won't be of any use if I can't link each row (city/state) to its corresponding time zone.
@ratgdillon I've never found a good list for this. Maybe find a list of the lat/long of each city. Get a similar list for the long of each time zone. Then you could create a calculation to figure out the time zone based upon each city's longitude?
