Dataset permissions overrides when refreshing app

Hey all

We have several workspaces with multiple reports in it.

We wondered if it is possible to set the permissions per report individually.

We found “Manage Permissions” in the dataset menu. This works just as expected, expect for the thing that it resets itself when I refresh the app.

I think this is because the user has been granted access to the whole app, so it overrides the dataset setting.

When I remove a user from the app access, but add him into the dataset, he cannot find the app, so this wont work neither…

Is this still not working correctly? (Regarding https://community.powerbi.com/t5/Service/Users-who-have-NOT-been-granted-access-to-dataset-and-or-re...)

Thank you and kind regards

HI @Anonymous,

>>We wondered if it is possible to set the permissions per report individually.

Current you can't accurate to control each report permission when you worked with group workspace contents.

>>When I remove a user from the app access, but add him into the dataset, he cannot find the app, so this wont work neither…

I think they use different access authorizations. When you remove user from share list, it means he no has permission to access app so he can't find that app.
