Dataflow refresh fails when windows password changed

Hi community,

Has anyone faced same problem like me. We have requirement to change windows password every 3 months and doing that it always fails the dataflow refresh and I go manually to each dataflow which is like 50 dataflows and update the credential.

My dataflows gets SQL data via on-premise datagateway.

There is no way I can update the data credential as the button seems to have disabled .

I know I am doing it wrong way , any idea how can this be simplified?

Thanks in advance as always

@schoden is it really the credentials on the dataflow or the credentials on the gateway which are failing?  My understanding is that when a gateway is being used, the data source credentials used in refresh are those which are entered in on the gateway.

If it's actually the data source credentials on the gateway which are expiring, the gateway administrator would need to update those.   For that reason I believe it's typically recommended that "service account" credentials (which don't expire) be used on the gateway, as opposed to personal credentials.

See below source:

@ebeery  You are right ...it has to be credential at the gateway ..otherwise will have to edit credential in every dataflows.

Thanks for the info 😄 wil have a play around
