Hi guys,
I get this error and I have no idea what do next. So, I've connected to a report I've created in Salesforce via Salesforce Reports.
So far, so good, right?
Unfortunately, I get this error, and I really need all the date columns in there.
I've tried, in the .pbx file Options /
- Current File / Regional Settings, to switch 'Locale for import' to UK, as opposed to US, but still nothing;
- Current File / Data Load, 'Type Detection', unchecked; still nothing.
Thanks in advance, team!
Alice
Hi @AliceW were you able to find a solution? I've used the Salesforce connector but I had some issues with my data too. As a workaround, maybe you can try to test your connection with a 3rd party connector. I've tried windsor.ai, supermetrics and funnel.io. I stayed with windsor because it is much cheaper so just to let you know other options. In case you wonder, to make the connection first search for the Salesforce connector in the data sources list:
After that, just grant access to your Salesforce account using your credentials, then on preview and destination page you will see a preview of your Salesforce fields:
There just select the fields you need. It is also compatible with custom fields and custom objects, so you'll be able to export them through windsor. Finally, just select PBI as your data destination and finally just copy and paste the url on PBI --> Get Data --> Web --> Paste the url.
Hi @AliceW, did you ever find a workaround for this one? I am currently facing the same situation and couldnt find a solution.
Hi @AliceW
You can connect to the SalesForce reports from Power BI successfully, right?
But when going to next step(Navigation), there is an error coming out, right?
If so, it seems the "date" column in your data source don't match the format in Power BI.
You could transform the column with Power query.
Here are some similar threads you could refer to.

Please give me more detail information so that i can make a test and provide a more clear solution.
eg, the two question at the begining of my reply,
what is the column which cause an error?
Best Regards

Hi Maggie,
I can connect to Salesforce and, yes, the next step, 'Navigation', is blocking everything.
As the table is not displayed at all (the 'Navigation' is the first step), I can't modify the column.
I've looked at the threads you sent, but I can't figure out how to match with what I have...
Thank you!
Hi @AliceW
I have tried to reproduce this error, but still can't.
Could you firstly check if you use the lastest version of Power BI Desktop(2.76.5678.782)?
As soon as i find the solution, i will update to you.
Best Regards
Maggie
