Hello all,
I'm trying to use a report from salesforce as source, but I'm getting this error:
DataFormat.Error: We couldn't parse the input provided as a Date value.
Details:
2019-11-01T03:00:00Z
Any ideas on how to solve this problem?
When I export the report to Excel the PBI reads the file normally, but I want to try the online feature.
Best regards,
Hi, were you able to find a solution? I've used the Salesforce connector but I had some issues with my data too. As a workaround, maybe you can try to test your connection with a 3rd party connector. I've tried windsor.ai, supermetrics and funnel.io. I stayed with windsor because it is much cheaper so just to let you know other options. In case you wonder, to make the connection first search for the Salesforce connector in the data sources list:
After that, just grant access to your Salesforce account using your credentials, then on preview and destination page you will see a preview of your Salesforce fields:
There just select the fields you need. It is also compatible with custom fields and custom objects, so you'll be able to export them through windsor. Finally, just select PBI as your data destination and finally just copy and paste the url on PBI --> Get Data --> Web --> Paste the url.
@Anonymous -
I think it is the ending 'Z'. I can't seem to find the acceptable DateTime.From... which listed all the correct formats; all i could find was https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerquery-m/datetime-fromtext.
Try removing the 'Z'.
Edit - take a look at https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerquery-m/datetimezone-fromtext which shows an example of trailing 'Z'.

Hello @ChrisMendoza
Remove Z from where? From the base?
Because in my report I have 3 columns with dates, and all are in dd/mm/yyyy format

To be honest, after my edited response I am not terribly sure what the problem is.

The error message shows differently though as yyyy-mm-ddThh:mm:ssZ. Which should fulfill the requirements of DateTime.FromText( ) which I was thinking the issue was.
I was responding in my experience where I had a format of yyyy-mm-dd hh:mm:ss which neccesitated inserting the 'T' .
