Data source change

Dear All , 

I have made some  reports , which were made from Excel files imported from SharePoint .

But now challenge is that data is  being shifted to data base and now to be querried using SQL server  

 

So now how should I change the source from SharePoint to SQL server  ? Or should I again make these reports  by doing get data from SQL

 

Need help

@Sujit_Thakur , Create a new connection using SQL server. Open Edit query and right on table and open advance editor and get the script and use this script in place source in old pbix. 

Keep backup of file

Thanks for answering so promptly .
I will surely try what @amitchandak  sir have advised from a shared post.

it could take a week to mark answer to this question , please bare with me !

Hi @Sujit_Thakur 

If it's the same data then create a new query and import the data from SQL Server.  Create steps to get the data into the same structure/format as it was when you were using it as a source from Excel/Sharepoint.

Then copy/paste the steps from the old query into your new query from the point at which the data is the same in both queries.

You may need to manually change a step name from your old query to match the last step in the new query.

This is easeir to explain with actual code!
