Data Types/Decimals in Custom Visuals

I've been playing around with some of the custom visuals (Sunburst, Infographic Designer) and I noticed that when I highlight part of the visual to display a sum, the number is formatted with 9 decimals. I went and changed the data type and decimals to $ and none for the field and it still doesn't reflect into Sunburst or Infographic Designer. However, it does reflect in all the built in visuals that come with Power BI.

Is this just a limitation of custom visuals or is there a work around that I can do to format data the way I want into custom visuals?

Thanks for the help!

@mattkong,

Based on my research, some of the custom visuals do not apply this formatting setting in their source code. You can only add a calculated column to achieve limited functionality. By the way, you may follow the link below to create your own custom visual with the custom visual developer tools.
