Data Type conversion bug for percentage with special character "%"

Hi,

I have data for multiple columns that contains values with numeric + "%" character. E.g. "34 %" The problem I'm having is, I created a new pbix file and did all my transformation and everything came out correctly. Below are my experiments between a new file I opened (top) and one within a customer file I received (bottom)

First column comes out as text

2nd column is decimal

3rd is in percentage

correct.PNG

After confirming this is what I wanted, I essentially copied the exact M code to my working pbix file, but instead I get this:

wrong.PNG

As you can see, converting to decimal and percentage is multiplying by 100. Is there a way to toggle this multiplication or fix this odd behavior?

After writing and re-reading what I wrote, the solution was that the Options > Regional Settings needed to be changed. Once that was set, everything works now.
